Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus now cost $120 a year together, before applicable taxes. For people already paying for both, linking accounts can end duplicate membership billing and produce a refund. For someone with a discount or a sponsored membership, switching can increase the amount they personally pay.
The bundle launched October 20. Before converting, identify your current plan, its renewal date and which company bills it. Those details determine the charge and which terms apply.
Compare the cost from your starting point
| Current membership | Published annual-price comparison |
|---|---|
| Neither membership | $120 for the bundle |
| Full-price annual Walmart+ at $98 | $22 more annually |
| Sam's Club at the $60 Club level | $60 more annually to upgrade to Plus |
| Sam's Club Plus at $120 | Walmart+ included after account linking |
| Separately paid Walmart+ and Plus | Link accounts; an eligible Walmart+ refund may apply |
The separate full-price annual plans total $218, so the bundle's $120 price is $98 lower. That comparison assumes you would otherwise buy both at regular prices. It does not measure savings for someone who needs only Walmart+ or receives a subsidized plan.
Kiplinger's membership comparison flags the risk of losing existing promotional discounts or payment benefits. Compare the bundle with your own bill after any reimbursement. Do not count a benefit you would stop receiving as money saved.
How the refund works if you already pay for both
Sam's Club's terms, section VI.G, cover memberships billed through Sam's. Linking an eligible Plus membership with a Walmart+ membership purchased directly from Walmart ends the separate Walmart+ billing. The existing Sam's renewal date remains.
For eligible members linking within one year of launch, the refund includes the prorated Walmart+ value from launch through the first Walmart+ renewal afterward, plus eligible renewal charges paid before linking. The calculation uses what you paid; there is no single refund amount for every household. Partner-funded and sponsored Walmart+ memberships are excluded from refunds under Sam's terms.
The companies describe later linking differently. Sam's says that after one year, the refund is prorated from the most recent Walmart+ billing date through linking. Walmart's section 1.12.2 instead makes refund eligibility and amounts discretionary after one year. Use the terms for the company billing your membership rather than assuming those provisions are interchangeable.
Conversion charges and paid add-ons
Walmart's annual and monthly conversion provisions apply when you have no active or expired Sam's membership. For an eligible annual Walmart+ conversion billed by Walmart, the charge is the difference between the bundle price and the annual price you actually paid, prorated for the remaining term. The renewal date stays unchanged; the full bundle fee applies at renewal.
An eligible monthly Walmart+ conversion requires the full annual bundle fee upfront and a prorated refund of the unused monthly term. Certain monthly Plus Up add-ons also convert to annual billing with an upfront annual charge and a refund for unused monthly time. Review those separate charges before accepting the conversion.
Walmart's terms say partner or sponsor funding no longer applies when enrolling in this bundle. Cancellation requirements depend on the provider. Confirm the displayed charge and renewal date before giving up an existing funded plan.
Delivery benefits still have minimums

The bundle help page lists free eligible scheduled Walmart delivery on orders of at least $35 and standard Sam's Club delivery on orders of at least $50. Availability and restrictions apply. Membership does not make every order or delivery speed free.
Streaming includes a choice of Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential, both ad-supported, with a choice change allowed every 90 days and separate registration required. It does not include both services simultaneously.
Delinking does not stop the paid membership
The accounts remain separate even after linking. Walmart's help page says the active paid membership remains on the account marked "Billed by" if the accounts are delinked; the added membership benefit ends. Delinking alone does not cancel that paid renewal.
Canceling the bundle ends both sets of benefits at the membership's expiration. Use the cancellation controls for the billed membership if the goal is to stop renewal. Household sharing also has separate rules: a Sam's complimentary household card does not automatically give its holder Walmart+ benefits.
