Starbucks brought the Aerocano to North American coffeehouses on September 29, adding an air-whipped espresso drink to its core menu. It is a variation on an Iced Americano, with preparation and texture as the main differences described by the company.

The company's introduction describes Blonde Espresso and ice whipped to create a light layer of foam and a cascading effect. Starbucks also introduced a Caramel Aerocano as a separate flavored version.

An Americano combines espresso shots and water. The Aerocano's air-whipping process changes the preparation, while the caramel version adds another flavor choice. Size and optional additions affect the comparison between an Aerocano and a usual Americano order. Starbucks' descriptions of smoothness are the company's own; Edit USA has not conducted a taste test.

The September 29 menu announcement also listed Apple Crumble, Pecan and Pumpkin Mini Pies. Adding one changes the total order cost, so the complete local-menu price is more useful than a drink's headline starting price.

Check the version, size, additions and ingredient information for the exact order, particularly when a dietary restriction matters. The launch fell on National Coffee Day, but that date alone does not establish a discount. Any offer depends on what is displayed in the customer's account.
