Voters assigned to the Kinston 8 precinct in Lenoir County, North Carolina, have until 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, November 3, to get in line at the Holloway Recreation Center. The polling place is at 100 N. Myrtle Avenue in Kinston. The 30-minute extension applies to that precinct. North Carolina’s regular Election Day closing time is 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

The State Board of Elections approved the extension unanimously after printer problems delayed voting by about 45 minutes, Neuse News reported. The precinct appears on the board’s November 3 emergency meeting agenda. The Lenoir County polling directory lists the center as the Kinston 8 voting location.

Which ballot you’ll get

According to Neuse News, people already in line by 7:30 p.m. will use regular ballots. Voters who arrive after 7:30 p.m. during the extension will cast provisional ballots. The State Board’s guide to extended-hours voting explains how officials handle those ballots.

If you vote elsewhere in North Carolina, check your assigned Election Day site through the State Board of Elections. At polling places on the regular schedule, voters in line by 7:30 p.m. can still cast a ballot. The extension at Holloway gives Kinston 8 voters an extra half-hour and changes the type of ballot used by those who arrive during that period.
