Google Cloud revenue doubles, but Alphabet profit falls on an $8.7 billion investment loss

Alphabet revenue rose 25% to $127.6 billion in July through September as Google Cloud more than doubled, while an investment loss pulled net income down to $26.2 billion and spending on equipment hit $51.4 billion.
