Bodum recalls 5.9 million French presses. The fix is a plastic spoon and a warning label

The CPSC notice covers 8-cup and 12-cup Bistro, Brazil, Caffettiera, Chambord, Crema, Java, Jesper and Kenya presses sold since 1974. Bodum has counted 70 carafes breaking in use and 48 burn reports.
