Google is expanding Connected Apps across Search and Gemini, but the two products have different app lists and controls. Linking a service also raises three separate questions: what the AI may do, which accounts remain linked, and what happens to information already shared.
Google's October 28 announcement says Adobe, Experian and Peloton integrations are live in Gemini, with expansion to Search planned for the coming weeks. Calm is also forthcoming. The developer platform is in preview; that does not mean every announced service is available to every consumer today.
Which apps work where
Google's Gemini requirements table lists Experian and Peloton for personal Google Accounts belonging to adults 18 or older in the US, using English. Both support chats and tasks on Gemini's web, mobile and Windows apps. Experian can retrieve credit-score information; Peloton can find and schedule classes and create training plans.
Adobe is also listed for personal accounts, ages 18 and older, in English, where both Gemini and the third-party app are supported. Availability still depends on the app, device and country. Localiza appears in Google's global announcement, but its Gemini listing is Brazil-only and Portuguese-only.
| Product | Current documented examples | Availability limit |
|---|---|---|
| Search AI Mode | Instacart, Canva, YouTube Music | US, English; app requirements apply |
| Gemini | Adobe, Experian, Peloton | Check each app's account, age and region rules |
Search's current help page also lists Yahoo Fantasy Football and Sleeper Fantasy Football. Its Connected Apps feature is available in US AI Mode in English. Many services require a separate account linked to Google. A service appearing in Gemini's list does not establish that it works in Search.
Where the task finishes, and what may cost extra
Connected Apps can prepare work that you finish in the original service. Google says an Instacart grocery cart leads to Instacart for checkout and order management. A YouTube Music playlist leads to that app for listening; a Canva design leads to Canva for downloading or editing. Creating a cart is a different action from completing a purchase.
Access to an integration also does not establish the price of every underlying service. Adobe's own Gemini page says many capabilities work without signing in. An Adobe account unlocks additional features and storage, while some tools require an eligible paid Adobe plan. It includes selected capabilities from Photoshop, Lightroom, Firefly and Adobe Express, rather than every feature in those apps.
Google's table labels its subscription field as a required Google AI subscription, if any. That field alone cannot tell you whether a partner's service has a separate fee.
Find the controls available to your account
On a computer, Google documents this Gemini route: open Gemini, choose Customize in the sidebar, then Connectors. If Customize is hidden, choose More first. Open an app's details to see supported actions and example prompts. To disconnect it, choose More options, then Disconnect, and follow the prompts.
There is a documentation mismatch: Adobe's page describes Settings, Personal Intelligence and Connected Apps, while Google's help describes Customize and Connectors. Check the labels shown in your account; the two pages do not establish that one path appears for everyone.
Connected Apps settings also do not disable all use of public information. Google says Gemini can use public Google Search information even with Keep Activity off or while you are signed out.
Stop an agent, or remove the account link
Google's linked-app management instructions distinguish agent permission from the underlying connection. To stop an agent using a service, open your Google Account's Linked apps page, find the app or use the Agent access filter, and select Stop using for that agent. Confirm the choice.
That stops the agent completing tasks through the app, but leaves the account link in place. Removing Google's access to the linked service is a separate action under the linked account's details. Google warns that features depending on that link stop working across devices signed into the account.
Sign in with Google is another connection type. Stopping that automatic sign-in does not delete your information from the other service.
Deletion needs a separate review
The Gemini Apps Privacy Hub says disconnecting an app does not erase Gemini Apps Activity. It also says deleting Gemini activity does not delete information another app has already received. Third-party services process and retain that information under their own policies.
Google's privacy notice says Gemini saves and uses Connected Apps information to provide and improve Gemini. Turning off Keep Activity does not stop Google processing a chat to answer it and protect its services, including with help from human reviewers.
For deletion, review Gemini Apps Activity and the receiving service's own data controls separately.
