Skydance is introducing a voluntary buyout program for eligible employees as it expands a five-day in-office policy across the company, according to an October 26 announcement to staff.
Employees who qualify for the one-time offer will receive individual communications with personalized terms and a period in which to decide whether to accept. The announcement does not specify how many people qualify, the value of the packages or a companywide acceptance deadline.
The office requirement will take effect in phases by location. Employees will receive advance notice, and managers will help with the transition. The message gives no single start date covering every office.
Co-CEOs David Ellison and Ynon Kreiz presented the changes as part of bringing teams together under a common culture. They argued that working in person supports creative collaboration, informal conversations, learning and coaching.
Paramount employees have already experienced a five-day office requirement. In its November 2025 shareholder letter, the company described a phased return beginning in January 2026. Employees in its Los Angeles and New York offices at vice president level and below could choose voluntary severance if they were unable or unwilling to return full time. Approximately 600 took that option.
That earlier figure describes the previous program. The October 26 announcement provides no participation estimate for the new offer across Skydance.
For employees considering the new buyout, the individual offer will contain the terms and decision window. The company directed those receiving an offer to review their materials and take questions to their leadership or HR representative. The general announcement alone does not establish an individual employee's eligibility.
