Dreo is recalling about 338,800 DR-HSH015 space heaters in the United States because they can overheat and catch fire. Owners of affected units should stop using them and unplug them, even if the heater has worked normally. A free replacement is available.
The October 29 CPSC notice lists 17 reports of heaters igniting, including three involving property damage and one involving a hand burn. Costco sold the heaters nationwide, and online sellers included Dreo, Best Buy, Kohl's, Lowe's, QVC and Home Depot. U.S. sales ran from September 2025 through October 2026 at $70 to $110.
Match the model and manufacture date
Check the label on the underside for both identifiers: model DR-HSH015 and a manufacture date from 2025/04 through 2026/01, meaning April 2025 through January 2026. The date is when the heater was made, not when you bought it.
The black ceramic heater has a remote control and measures about 11.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall. Dreo also calls it the Whole-Room Heater 715. Its recall FAQ says other manufacture dates for this model, other heater models and other product categories are outside this recall.
Register before preparing the destruction photo
Dreo directs owners to recallrtr.com/spaceheater for registration. The company says a receipt is not required if you can supply the necessary product information.
Follow the recall process for the destruction code and photograph. Dreo says the photo must show the product label with its model, date code and serial number, plus the word "Recall" and your five-digit destruction code written on the label in permanent marker. It must also show the cut power cord. Unplug the heater before cutting its cord.
Dreo reviews claims before arranging replacement shipment. Its estimate of about 10 business days applies after shipment, with actual delivery varying by address and carrier; it is not a promise of delivery within 10 days of registration.
