Taylor Farms of Dallas has recalled H-E-B Backyard BBQ Chop Salad Kit sold at H-E-B stores in Texas because it may contain soy and almonds that are missing from the label. The company announced the recall October 27 and said no adverse reactions had been reported.

The affected product comes in plastic bags. Match all three identifiers:

  • Package size: 13.4 ounces.
  • Best If Used By date: October 30, 2026.
  • UPC: 041220300457.

Customers should not eat the recalled salad. The company says to throw it away or return it to the store for a full refund. Questions can go to Taylor Farms at (855) 455-0098. The recall notice includes front and back package photos to help identify the bag.

Soybeans and tree nuts, including almonds, are among the major food allergens recognized in US labeling requirements. FDA's food-allergy guidance explains that labels help people identify ingredients they need to avoid. An undeclared allergen can remove that warning for someone who relies on the package to choose food.

If someone has already eaten the salad, allergic symptoms can appear within minutes to hours. They can include hives, swelling of the face or lips, vomiting, coughing or wheezing, and difficulty breathing. Symptoms vary between people and between reactions.

FDA advises people with a known food allergy who develop symptoms to stop eating, assess the need for emergency treatment such as epinephrine, and seek medical attention. A reaction that starts mildly can become life-threatening quickly. Keep the package if a reaction occurs, since its identifying codes can help a health care provider or FDA investigate.
