Philadelphia and Green Bay won two close games on September 20. The Eagles beat Tennessee 24-20 in Nashville with a touchdown in the final seconds, while the Packers erased a fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the New York Jets 20-17 in overtime.

Philadelphia’s last drive

The Eagles’ recap describes a final possession that began with less than two minutes remaining after Joey Slye’s 32-yard field goal put Tennessee ahead 20-17.

DeVonta Smith caught four passes for 28 yards on that drive. His 19-yard catch on third down took Philadelphia to the Tennessee 3-yard line with less than 20 seconds left.

With 14 seconds remaining, Jalen Hurts found Darius Cooper in the back of the end zone for Cooper’s first NFL touchdown reception. Philadelphia’s defense finished the game, moving the Eagles to 2-0 and leaving Tennessee at 0-2. Smith finished with ten catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.

New York’s lead disappears

The Jets’ recap records a 17-7 New York lead in the fourth quarter of its home opener. A fumble forced by Kingsley Enagbare and recovered by Harrison Phillips had given the Jets a short field for Jason Sanders’ 32-yard field goal.

Green Bay responded with Jordan Love’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Christian Watson. Skyy Moore’s 63-yard punt return then helped set up Trey Smack’s 34-yard field goal, tying the game with 3:03 left in regulation.

The Packers scored the game’s final thirteen points to win in overtime, leaving both teams at 1-1. New York had held Green Bay’s offense to 199 yards and one conversion in nine third-down attempts, but could not protect its late lead.
