Target now offers next-day delivery in 57 metro areas, with three more listed as coming soon, according to the delivery fact sheet it updated on October 26. The order-by time is what decides whether a package arrives tomorrow, and it ranges from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time depending on the city.
Order-by times (local time)
- 2:30 p.m.: Washington, D.C.; Richmond, Va.; Amherst, Mass.; New York City, Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, N.Y.
- 3 p.m.: Fresno, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco and Stockton, Calif.; Cleveland; Seattle
- 5 p.m.: Tucson; Denver; Miami; Atlanta; Detroit; Minneapolis; Philadelphia; Austin, Dallas and Houston

When it is free
Next-day delivery costs nothing on orders over $35. Target Circle 360 members and people paying with a Target Circle Card get it with no minimum on more than 80% of items that can ship. Everything else costs $5.99.
Most items that ship qualify: Target says that covers about 85% of what it sells in stores. The product page and the checkout page show whether a given item is eligible and the order-by time for your address.
For other options, Target says same-day delivery reaches 80% of the U.S. population and two-day shipping 99%, and Order Pickup and Drive Up stay free.
Lower prices on two Threshold bedding staples
Target is also relaunching Threshold, its biggest home brand, with more than 800 new items, and it cut prices on two bedding lines: Threshold Performance Sheets are now $50 for queen and $60 for king, and select Threshold queen comforters dropped to $69 from $89.
