Conductor, a Mac app for running several AI coding agents side by side, is joining Meta, the startup announced Wednesday. Its cloud service will shut down on Nov. 20. Sign-ups and downloads closed the same day. The announcement gives no price, and Meta had not posted about the deal on its newsroom by Wednesday afternoon.
What Conductor does

Conductor lets a developer run several AI agents on the same codebase at once, each in its own isolated copy, and then merge the work worth keeping. Under the hood it uses the coding agents that AI companies already sell, such as Anthropic's Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex. Users bring their own subscriptions.
The company launched in July 2025. It now says it is "trusted by 100k+ builders." In March it raised a $22 million Series A from Matrix and Spark, and at the time it said Google, Meta and other large companies each had dozens of engineers using the app.
The team has "big, crazy plans for the next interface," the announcement says. It hopes to offer something new early next year but does not say what.
Shutdown dates for current users

| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| Nov. 4 | No new sign-ups or downloads. Free users can't upgrade, and Pro users keep Pro features free |
| Nov. 13 | Conductor Cloud turns read-only, and active subscribers get refunds |
| Nov. 20 | Conductor Cloud shuts down and deletion of cloud user data begins |
| Early 2027 | The local Mac app stops getting updates and winds down |
Cloud users have about two weeks to move their work. According to the release notes for version 0.93.0, right-clicking a cloud workspace and choosing Transfer to local moves it to the user's Mac along with its chats. A full export is under Settings, in the Account section.
The local app keeps working for now, and Conductor plans to keep adding models and fixing serious bugs through early 2027. Then the app shuts down, and Conductor says it will delete all user data at that point. It says it has never sold that data or trained on it.
