"Nocturne," the crime thriller starring Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham, is streaming its first two episodes on Apple TV for its October 30 premiere. The 10-episode season will continue on Fridays through Christmas Day.
Anyone planning to follow the mystery as it unfolds will need access into late December. The US standalone subscription costs $14.99 a month, with a seven-day trial advertised for new subscribers.
A detective, his protégé and a missing victim

Schreiber plays Jonah Lynn, a former soldier and homicide detective who leaves Philadelphia for a small town in western Pennsylvania. His attempt at a quieter life unravels when serial killer Jurek Walter, played by Graham, threatens his family and community.
Beetz plays FBI agent Saga Bauer, Jonah's protégé and surrogate daughter. The search for a missing victim sends her undercover to get answers from Walter.
The adaptation draws on Lars Kepler's novels "Lazarus" and "The Sandman". Rowan Joffé created the television series, and John Hlavin is its showrunner. Tim Van Patten directed the first two episodes. Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr also appear in the ensemble.
Two episodes now, a Christmas finale
The US episode listing gives the premiere, "Lazarus, Come Forth!," a running time of 62 minutes. Episode two, "For Such a Time as This," runs 52 minutes. Together, the opening pair totals 114 minutes, or one hour and 54 minutes.
Episode three, "Eyes on the Inside," is listed for November 6. After the double premiere, Apple's announced schedule calls for one new episode each Friday, ending December 25. The full season is therefore spread across nine release dates.
Apple rates the series TV-MA and lists violence and language among its content advisories. English closed captions, subtitles for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers, and an English audio-description track are listed.
What US viewing costs
At the current standalone monthly price, two full-price billing periods cost $29.98 before tax. That is the subscription math for someone starting October 30 and keeping access through the December 25 finale, without a trial, bundle or other promotion. An existing subscription adds no separate charge for this series.
For viewers who prefer the entire season at once, December 25 is the scheduled date to wait for. A seven-day trial beginning at the premiere cannot cover the weekly run through Christmas.
Apple TV works on supported smart TVs, streaming sticks, Android and Apple devices, and through the web. Buying an Apple TV 4K box is unnecessary; viewers can use a compatible device they already own.
