VQQQ is recalling about 100 natural gas patio heaters because malfunctioning components can release gas, creating fire and burn hazards that could cause serious injury or death. The CPSC notice, dated October 22, 2026, reports no incidents or injuries.

The affected models are VQQQ-A1 and VQQQ-001. Check the purchase receipt for the brand and model number. The heaters have a bronze pole, round base, silver mushroom-shaped top and 24-foot gray gas hose. They were sold on Amazon from July 2024 through August 2026 for about $346.

How to get the refund

Stop using the heater immediately. The recall directs owners to shut the valve at the portable gas source, disconnect the hose and contact VQQQ for a full refund.

Owners must mark the heater’s base with the word "Recalled" in permanent marker and email a photograph to vqqqrecall@163.com. The notice then instructs owners to dispose of the heater.

Placement rules still apply to other heaters

Before buying a replacement, check local fire rules as well as the manufacturer’s instructions. For example, Fairfax County, Virginia’s patio-heater guidance requires at least five feet of clearance from buildings and prohibits use on exterior balconies or inside tents and canopies. Those requirements apply in Fairfax County and the towns of Clifton, Herndon and Vienna.

The recalled VQQQ models should remain out of service regardless of where they are placed.
