Harry Kane won the men’s Ballon d’Or and Alexia Putellas won the women’s award at the October 26 ceremony at London’s Palladium Theatre.

Kane, 33, finished ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal in UEFA’s official results. He is the first Englishman to receive the award since Michael Owen in 2001.

The organizer’s live account puts Kane’s 2025-26 total at 73 goals: 61 for Bayern Munich and 12 for England, including six at the World Cup. Bayern separately confirmed his Gerd Müller Trophy as the leading scorer, with his club goals coming in 51 competitive appearances.

Putellas, 32, collected her third Ballon d’Or after winning in 2021 and 2022. UEFA’s women’s results place Ewa Pajor second and Khadija Shaw third. Putellas scored seven goals and supplied seven assists in Barcelona’s winning Champions League campaign.

Reuters reported that Putellas won the treble with Barcelona before moving to London City Lionesses in July. An international panel of journalists selects the winner.

The other individual winners included Lamine Yamal and Vicky López for young talent, Unai Simón and Cata Coll for goalkeeping, and Charlyn Corral as women’s striker of the year.

Two players from US clubs reached the main awards’ top tens. Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi finished fifth in the men’s voting. Kansas City Current’s Temwa Chawinga placed tenth in the women’s rankings.
