A shooting at Citibank's Sabal Center office campus in Tampa killed one person on Wednesday, and the gunman died after an armed company security guard shot him, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said in its release.
Detectives are investigating the case as a homicide. The sheriff's office has not named the victim or the suspect.
What the sheriff's office says happened

The first 911 calls reporting shots fired at 3800 Citibank Center came in at 12:11 p.m. Eastern time, 9:11 a.m. Pacific. A marked deputy's car arrived within a minute, and deputies went straight into the building. An armed Citibank guard faced the gunman in the building's cafeteria and shot him there.
The suspect was taken to Tampa General Hospital at 12:24 p.m. and pronounced dead at 1:12 p.m. One victim died at the scene.
When the shooting started, more than 3,200 people were on the campus. The sheriff's office sent 367 deputies, including SWAT, aviation, drone and K9 units, and more than 400 law enforcement officers in all worked the scene with state and federal partners. They cleared the buildings within about two hours.
At a 3:30 p.m. briefing, Chief Deputy Frank Losat said the person killed was a female employee and that four other people went to a hospital with injuries he described as not life-threatening, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Hillsborough County lifted its shelter-in-place order that afternoon but asked people to avoid the area while detectives interview witnesses.
What investigators are asking for

"This was a tragic situation where a victim was killed by an individual who was intent on killing as many people as possible," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the release. He credited the security team on site and the deputies with stopping the suspect "before he could harm anyone else."
The sheriff's office has not given a motive. It is asking anyone with video of the shooting to send it to [email protected], and says further updates will come from its public affairs office.
