Brightline has suspended passenger trains between Orlando and West Palm Beach because high water is affecting its rail corridor in Brevard County.

The company's November 2 service announcement gives no restart time. Trains will resume when conditions permit safe movement through the affected area.

Service linking Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach continues to operate normally, Brightline said. The interruption affects the connection between that network and Orlando.

What passengers should expect

Brightline says it will contact customers with affected reservations directly about their travel options. Passengers can follow the company's website, app and social channels for service updates. Check the status of an affected reservation before heading to the station.

WFTV also reported the suspension, citing high water along the Brevard corridor. The company has maintenance personnel at the scene and is coordinating with Florida East Coast Railway.

What has to happen before trains return

After the water recedes, crews must inspect the affected tracks, signals and crossings before passenger trains can resume. Falling water alone does not establish that service has restarted.

The Orlando station is inside Orlando International Airport. Travelers connecting with a flight should account for the suspended rail segment when reviewing their onward journey.
