T-Mobile will introduce three T-Mix wireless plans in November, letting customers allocate included credits called Picks among subscriptions, wireless benefits and phone promotions. The company announced the plans October 26.
For one line, the starting monthly prices with AutoPay are:
| Plan | Monthly price before taxes and fees | Included Picks |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $55 | 1 |
| More | $75 | 2 |
| Loaded | $95 | 3 |
Those prices make each step up $20 a month, or $240 a year, for one additional Pick. A subscription bundle only saves a household money if it replaces spending the household would otherwise keep.
Reuters reported that Netflix was the most popular benefit in T-Mobile’s early-October pilot, citing an interview with Chief Marketing Officer Allan Samson. Music and AI subscriptions also attracted interest, while Xbox appealed to younger customers, he told Reuters. The reporting puts the move alongside rivals’ customizable offerings as carriers compete on benefits as well as service and phones.
Picks can remain committed
T-Mobile says partner benefits can be changed during three quarterly windows and an annual reselection window. Some wireless benefits can be changed anytime. Device promotions hold Picks for the promotion period, and some other benefits commit them for a quarter or longer. Changing a partner benefit outside its window may require a fee.
The announcement lists partners including Apple, DoorDash, Google, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+, SiriusXM, Xbox and YouTube. A Pick is a plan credit, so the number of Picks a particular benefit requires is part of the comparison. T-Mobile reserves the right to change those requirements and its benefit lineup.
For a customer weighing an upgrade, compare the extra annual plan charge with the benefits actually used, then account for any Picks committed to a phone promotion. Unused Picks do not roll into the next quarter. Existing third-party subscriptions may also need to be managed separately to avoid duplicate charges.
