Sony is starting its Black Friday sale three weeks before Black Friday. PlayStation Store's Black Friday Deals open Wednesday. They run through Monday, Nov. 30, and Sony is advertising discounts of up to 75% across what it describes as thousands of PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 games, expansions and add-ons.

No prices yet, though. The company's post names titles that will be in the sale and says the discounts and the full list "will be revealed on PlayStation Store when the Black Friday Deals begin." Each listing in the announcement carries the same line: information subject to change, prices may differ by region.

The titles Sony named

Sixteen titles appear in the preview. The recent and premium editions include Marvel's Wolverine Digital Deluxe Edition, SAROS Digital Deluxe Edition, 007 First Light Deluxe Edition, PRAGMATA Deluxe Edition, The Blood of Dawnwalker Eclipse Edition, Echoes of Aincrad Deluxe Edition and NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition. Alongside them sit UFC 6 Ultimate Edition, Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred, SILENT HILL: Townfall, Beast of Reincarnation, Mortal Shell II, The Sinking City 2, ASTRO BOT, Valheim and Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition. Sony calls that "a small preview of just some of the titles," so the list on Wednesday will be longer. Add-ons and expansions are in the sale too, which matters for a long-running game that is cheaper to extend than to buy outright.

A sale that reveals its discounts only after it starts is hard to judge from the inside. The store already runs permanent markdowns, and those are the baseline any Black Friday number has to beat. The PlayStation Store deals page was showing these on Tuesday afternoon, the day before the sale opened.

TitleCurrent priceDiscount
EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 Deluxe Edition (PS5)$64.99, from $99.9935%
EA SPORTS College Football 27 Deluxe Edition (PS5)$64.99, from $99.9935%
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty (PS5 add-on)$17.99, from $29.9940%
Resident Evil Requiem (PS5)$48.99, from $69.9930%
MLB The Show 26 (PS5)$29.99, from $49.9940%
Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition (PS4)$19.9980%

If a game is already cut 40% today, a Black Friday banner on the same title only means something when the number goes lower. Screenshot the ones you care about tonight.

The post covers the PlayStation Store, so it is about digital games and add-ons. Hardware, accessories and PlayStation Plus pricing go unmentioned, and nothing in it promises that a given discount will hold for the full four weeks. The "up to 75%" figure is a ceiling rather than a typical discount, and Sony does not say which titles reach it.

The sale window also contains a launch. Grand Theft Auto VI arrives Nov. 19 at $79.99 for the standard edition, in the middle of the four weeks, and it is not among the titles Sony previewed for the sale. Budget around it.

Black Friday falls on Nov. 27 this year and Cyber Monday on Nov. 30, so a sale that opens Nov. 4 and closes Nov. 30 swallows both of them, which means there is no separate Cyber Monday promotion to wait for on the PlayStation Store and no reason to hold off on a price you are happy with in week one on the theory that a better one lands at the end of the month.
