Target's Veterans Day discount is already running. Through Wednesday, Nov. 11, verified military members, veterans and their families can take 20% off one qualifying purchase, as long as they belong to Target Circle, the store's free loyalty program. Chili's and Bob Evans have also posted their 2026 free-meal terms for Veterans Day itself, and their fine print differs from Target's.

The discount covers one storewide purchase, which Target calls "qualifying" without listing exclusions in its announcement. To use it, sign in to a Target account on the site or app and join Target Circle for free. Then verify your military status.

Don't send Target a copy of your military ID. Target says photocopies of a U.S. government ID or Common Access Card are prohibited, because copying federal identification violates federal law. It asks for non-classified documents from an administrative officer or government official instead.

Once you're verified, you can keep veteran or dependent status on your Target profile for future military offers. Target says it also runs a military discount around Independence Day each summer.

Chili's: a free meal from four entrées

On Nov. 11, veterans and active military members can get a free meal at participating Chili's. The choices are Chicken Crispers, Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, the Oldtimer Burger with Cheese, or Soup and House Salad.

The meal is dine-in only, with no substitutions, and it can't be combined with other offers. Drinks and tip are on you. The Chili's page doesn't say what proof of service to bring, so bring proof of service in case the restaurant asks.

Bob Evans: one free item from an 11-item menu

Bob Evans says veterans and active-duty military get one free item from a special menu at all its restaurants on Nov. 11. The menu covers breakfast and supper: hotcakes, brioche French toast, the Classic Breakfast, a smaller portion of turkey and dressing, country-fried steak and hickory-smoked ham steaks, among others.

It's also dine-in only, and drinks aren't included. Bob Evans spells out the proof it accepts. A U.S. Uniformed Services ID or retired card works, and so does a current Leave and Earnings Statement, a DD214, or a citation or commendation. A veterans organization card from a group such as the American Legion or VFW counts too. So does a photo of yourself in uniform, or showing up in it.

Both restaurant offers are for veterans and active-duty troops. Going by the posted terms, spouses and other family members can use only the Target discount.
