Siri AI now supports French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, expanding the assistant beyond English with Apple’s October 26 software releases.
The expansion arrives in iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2. Siri AI remains a beta and requires Apple Intelligence-capable hardware. Installing the update on an older, unsupported device will not add the assistant.
For iPhone owners, Apple’s hardware requirements include iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 16 models and later, iPhone Air and iPhone Duo. A standard iPhone 15 is outside that list. Supported Apple Watches also require a compatible paired iPhone.
How activation works
Apple’s Siri AI setup instructions direct users to Settings, then Siri, then Try Siri AI (Beta). If Siri is off, turn it on first. The setup includes voice enrollment and a review of privacy settings, followed by a waitlist; Apple says wait times vary and the download begins automatically afterward.
Device language and Siri language must match a supported language. Apple’s support guidance also says changing Siri’s language can temporarily make Apple Intelligence unavailable until the new language finishes downloading and matches the device setting.
The new language release does not remove every restriction. Apple says Siri AI is unavailable to users under 13 and remains unavailable on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS in the European Union. Certain features that use server models, including Siri AI, have daily usage limits.
Under Apple’s usage terms, reaching a feature’s limit can make it unavailable or restrict its functionality until the limit resets. The language announcement gives no fixed daily allowance.
Apple plans to add traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese by the end of 2026. Those languages are not part of today’s Siri AI expansion.
