Uber is expanding ChatGPT Work from a 1,000-employee pilot to a rollout covering more than 30,000 employees worldwide. The deployment began October 22, according to OpenAI's announcement with Uber.

That is an increase of more than thirty times in the population covered. It describes access, rather than the number of employees using the tools every day. Daily adoption requires a separate count.

The rollout in context

StagePeople coveredWhat the figure describes
Pilot1,000 employeesThe initial trial group
Broader rolloutMore than 30,000 employeesThe intended workforce access

OpenAI's product introduction supplies the wider ChatGPT Work context. The Uber announcement describes a work agent inside ChatGPT Enterprise, connected with services including Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar and Slack. Examples include meeting briefs, presentations, research and data analysis. Uber is providing an internal skills library, approved integrations and training alongside the access.

Neither the enabled-account total nor the examples establish how much review a completed output requires or how many employees will use the system regularly.

The rollout concerns Uber employees. It does not establish workplace access for riders or for people who drive using Uber's platform.
