If you bought frozen Bami Rolls, Saté Kroketten or Bitterballen from Lowlands House, check the lot code before cooking them. The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert Nov. 6 because the affected products contain sesame that the labels do not list. The beef product also contains undeclared anchovy in its Worcestershire sauce.

Lowlands House sold the products online nationwide. FSIS says some may also have been sold at a festival and farmers market in Greer, South Carolina. The agency did not request a recall because the affected products were no longer available to buy. They can still be in home freezers.

Which packages to check

All three products came in clear vacuum-sealed packs with a best-by date of October 2027. Look for establishment number M3177 or P3177 inside the USDA inspection mark, then compare the product name, package count and lot code:

  • Bami Rolls, six pieces: BR-2026-01 or BR-2026-02.
  • Saté Kroketten, 10 pieces: SK-1026-01.
  • Bitterballen, 12 pieces: BB-1026-01.

FSIS says to throw away affected packages or return them to the place of purchase. The agency reported no confirmed adverse reactions when it issued the alert. If you're concerned about a reaction after eating one of the products, FSIS advises contacting a health care provider.
