Vitality Works is recalling one lot of 365 Whole Foods Market ashwagandha capsules because of possible Salmonella contamination. The supplements were sold nationwide at Whole Foods stores and through Amazon.com from November 24, 2025, through October 20, 2026.
In its announcement posted by the FDA, the company said no illnesses had been reported. Routine sampling of a single retail unit identified the potential contamination.

Symptoms to watch for
According to the CDC, Salmonella symptoms usually begin six hours to six days after infection and last four to seven days. Diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps are common; nausea and vomiting can also occur.
Call a doctor for diarrhea or vomiting lasting more than two days, bloody stool or urine, a fever above 102°F, or signs of dehydration. Those signs include little or no urination, very dark urine, a dry mouth or throat, dizziness, or crying without tears.
Dehydration can develop quickly in young children, the CDC warns. Children with diarrhea or vomiting should receive extra fluids.
