Two National Weather Service warnings cover parts of the Las Vegas area Saturday evening, October 31. The central Clark County warning, including Summerlin, lasts until 9:15 p.m. PDT. A separate warning for northwestern Clark County, including part of North Las Vegas, lasts until 9:45 p.m. PDT.

The 7:43 p.m. NWS update lists Lone Mountain, Centennial Hills, Aliante, North Las Vegas Airport and Floyd Lamb Park among the affected locations. It does not cover all of Clark County.

The separate 7:44 p.m. update reports a quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain in its warned area. Both warnings describe life-threatening flash flooding and carry a considerable damage-threat designation. Their mapped areas and deadlines differ.

For central Clark County, radar and gauges indicated a half-inch to an inch of rain. NWS said the heaviest rainfall had ended in both warned areas, but additional flooding from runoff remained possible.

Drivers should turn around at flooded roads. A scheduled expiration does not establish that roads are safe or that a closure has ended. Check current warning polygons and local instructions before traveling.

The Associated Press reported Saturday that Henderson crews conducted three swift-water rescues during Friday's downpour. Those incidents occurred a day before these warnings and in a different part of the valley. AP also reported flood watches across parts of Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico, where earlier storms had left ground saturated.
