The Federal Aviation Administration has scheduled a ground delay program for flights arriving at Boston Logan International Airport on Saturday, November 7, because of runway and taxiway construction. The FAA advisory covers scheduled arrivals from 1 p.m. to 9:59 p.m. Eastern. The agency listed a 70-minute average delay and a maximum of 143 minutes when it issued the advisory at 7:57 a.m. Eastern.

The program spaces out arrivals by assigning delays before takeoff. It covers flights to Boston from the contiguous United States and six Canadian airports: Halifax, Ottawa, Montréal, Toronto Pearson, Toronto Billy Bishop and Québec City. The published average describes the program as a whole. Your airline can tell you whether your particular flight has a revised departure or arrival time.

The Massachusetts Port Authority has warned travelers to expect delays, especially in the afternoon and evening, during the final phase of federally required runway safety work. The FAA's Saturday operations plan separately lists Runway 9/27 as closed until 11 a.m. Eastern on November 14.

If you are flying into Boston, check your airline's flight status before leaving for the airport. If you have a tight connection at Logan, check the onward flight as well and ask the airline what options it offers if your arrival time changes. Anyone picking up a passenger should check the updated arrival time before heading to Logan.
